Subject: Learn how RPV got Open Space funding

Hello everyone,

Next Thursday, March 30th, at 7 p.m., Rancho Palos Verdes Councilmember and newly appointed Coastal Commissioner, Larry Clark, will be our featured speaker at a gathering at the Veterans Park Historical Library, located in Veterans Park of course.  This is at the corner of Catalina and Torrance Blvd., looking south from the Redondo Pier.  Park just to the south and bring quarters for the meters, but we will have some if you forget.

He will talk about the philosophical changes that occurred over the years in RPV, and how this change brought millions in funding from a variety of outside sources to purchase open space on the Peninsula, such as the recent $17 million Portuguese Bend Preserve.  Of course, he'll discuss his new role on the Coastal Commission and what part they play in the South Bay.

Everyone is welcome!  Refreshments will be served.  And there will be some great people there to meet and visit with.

Don't hesitate to bring a friend or neighbor.  RSVP with a reply if you can, but come anyway if you don't get around to it.
